What we build on
Our engine and tools are built in-house, but not from nothing. These are the third-party works they depend on, and the licences under which we use them.
Engine
- Godot Engine — our native rendering device layer is derived from Godot Engine source under the MIT licence, with the original copyright headers preserved. © 2014–present Godot Engine contributors; © 2007–2014 Juan Linietsky, Ariel Manzur.
- Jolt Physics — MIT licence.
- meshoptimizer, ufbx, cgltf — MIT licence.
- Manifold — Apache 2.0 licence.
- MikkTSpace — zlib licence.
- Mesa (SPIR-V to DXIL translation, Direct3D 12 path) — MIT licence.
Inner Datum
- T-Engine4 / Tales of Maj'Eyal — Inner Datum's game logic began as a partial source port of the T-Engine4 roguelike engine from Lua to TypeScript. That code is GPL-licensed, and Inner Datum is published under the GPL 3.0-or-later as a result. © Nicolas Casalini and contributors.
- Inner Datum's artwork, setting, characters and prose are first-party and are not covered by that licence.
Assets
- A number of rock and landmark prop meshes in Outer Index 3D were generated with Meshy, a third-party AI tool, and selected and reviewed by hand before use. Imagery containing them is labelled on this site.
- Additional CC0 and permissively licensed art assets are credited in the source repository's asset notices.
The complete, authoritative notices — including exact version pins and full licence text — ship with the software itself.
